Hollie Helman, M.A Reading/Literacy

BA Elementary and Special Education

Hollie is a graduate of the University of Hartford where she received an undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education. She then moved to New York City where she began her teaching career and went on to receive her Master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from Bank Street College of Education. Hollie has over 25 years of teaching experience. For the last 10 years, Hollie has been a certified reading specialist working with students from Kindergarten to 5th grade. During her summers, Hollie owns and runs a day camp called Barefoot Adventures. Yoga, mindfulness, creative writing, meditation, and journaling are a huge part of each day at camp. Almost 10 years ago, Hollie got her Yoga Teacher Certification and has enjoyed sharing that gift with the many children who attend camp each year. In addition, Hollie loves hiking, spending time in nature, traveling, and going on adventures with her family.
